Why do people do this?

I don't think all people are dumb, I think some are, but not all ! I think people are afraid about getting a dog from shelters. You don't know what kind of life the dog had,or if its going to fit in your family OK. You cold get someones problems that you didn't even know the dog had.. Most of the time people want puppies or kittens not dogs or cats, the kittens & puppies go's before the dogs & cats do. With a puppy or a kitten you can train them the way you want them. My old lady work for a shelter & people would see what puppies or kittens they had , if they didn't see any they would just walk out the door. The shelters pup's & kittens would be the first to go. Not all shelters are that good, we got a pup from a shelter when we moved out here, the pup had KC lots of vet appointments & meds.. I've also seen this on questions & answers that people had gotten a dog from a shelter & it had KC. I don't know why people as you say it, use their dog as yard art. But I do know that, not all dogs belong inside, some are outside dogs !
