Will he know I'm doing this on purpose? (PLEASE HELP!)?

kay so theres this guy I like, and we used to text all the time, but he just stopped texting me! He hasn't texted me in 3 weeks and I don't want to be the first one to text because I don't want to seem like desperate or anything...so if I pretend to send a text to my friend Kristin and say "hey Kristin guess what!" and send it to him by "accident" will he know its really on purpose to get his attention?? or will he just think its an accident like I want him to...
