If i block someone in my gmail chat do i still get their emails?

You should go to gmail and Settings and Filters and see if their email address is in any filter you have set up. If they are, delete that filter. Then you'll be sure their email can arrive. If it's not in there, then you can still receive their emails. If you're not getting their emails, then, it's just because they don't care to send any.
